Hello!
Ashborne Games just passed the second year of being part of the THQ Nordic family. For this occasion, we have prepared a recap video and article summarizing the fascinating ride of Ashbornians.
The biggest event of the last year was the vertical slice milestone of our historical Strategy / RPG. The primary audience for the milestone presentation was THQ Nordic, and the whole Ashborne team took the opportunity to be part of a transparent online milestone evaluation. We felt a bit stressed initially, but it was a tremendous experience with a very successful ending. This vital step in the project deserved a proper celebration! Together with our colleagues (Ashbornians and TQH Nordic alike), families, and friends joined us at the BBQ Party in our office. It was a pleasure to have you on board for this celebration!
After several years of covid delays, we revisited the biggest local game developer conferences – Game Access and Game Developers Session. Together with our Bratislava friends from Nine Rock Games, we have united under the THQ Nordic Family umbrella. We have presented our history and raised charity donations to help Ukraine by offering beer and lemonade.
During the two-day conferences, visitors could buy a so-called bottomless cup for 100 CZK to refresh themselves and join us to chat. The interest in supporting Ukraine turned out to be stronger than thirst. Many people continued to contribute voluntarily without receiving anything in return. Together we have managed to raise 53 258 Kč to help Ukraine through the Člověk v Tísni charity. Big thanks to all who visited us and supported the cause.
Not to forget, our sisters and brothers from Bratislava presented their upcoming title, Way of the Hunter. For Ashborne, chef Pettka gave his presentation about establishing our studio during a pandemic to share the experience and help others avoid pitfalls. We have thoroughly enjoyed the excellent conference vibe, talks, talks, games, and, most importantly, the opportunity to see each other with colleagues from the game industry.
As for the global events, we have enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the fantastic THQ Nordic Family booth that happened to be at the Gamescom. It was a pleasure to meet with all the great people from THQ Nordic and other companies to talk about the work and game industry business. We even connected with some media during our visit to record early interviews.
Our Ashborne family has grown to 51 members, plus their little ones and pets born during the development. Next, we have been active in sports by participating with two teams in the Press vs. Devs Football Tennis Tournament, where we placed in nice 6th place out of 21 teams. We have even done our best to pay back the game development community by taking dozens of students during the summer holidays as interns. Last but not least, our office underwent some upgrades as new terraces.
We want to thank all our friends and families for their support on the track!
